- COLD WEATHER PROTOCOL
The Wallingford Family YMCA will open the doors to the community at no charge to come in out of the cold. We will offer FREE use of the Y facilities including; showers, pools, fitness centers, gymnasium, racquetball courts, free coffee, phone charging, etc. from Thursday, December 4, 2025 through our business hours on Tuesday, December 9, 2025.
Warming Center Hours at both 81 South Elm Street and 8 North Turnpike Road:
Thursday, December 4, 2025 - 5am - 9pm
Friday, December 5, 2025 - 5am-9pm
Saturday, December 6, 2025 - 7am-5pm

Bagged leaves will be picked up in the Town of Wallingford the week of Thanksgiving. Residents are asked to have paper bagged leaves at curbside no later than Sunday, November 23, 2025. Pick up will begin Monday, November 24, 2025.
Please note this is a one-time pick-up and only paper bags are accepted. Masking or Painters tape Only.
Leaves in Plastic bags or bags with duct tape WILL NOT be picked up. Brush in bags WILL NOT be picked up, LEAVES ONLY.

The Compost Center on John Street will be changing hours effective December 1, 2025.
Hours from December 1, 2025 - January 16, 2026 are as follows:
Monday/Thursday/Saturday
8AM-4PM
Last Gate Entry is 3:45PM
The Compost Center will close on January 16, 2026 with plans to reopen mid March 2026.

Name Your Elf Dolls, Military Truck, Horse and Carriage Rides, Games, Photo Ops with Our Storybook Friends, Ice Carving, Roasted Chestnuts, Appearances by Frosty and Rudolph, Goodie Bags and Chocolate Candy, Arts and Crafts, Holiday Music, Lights and Decorations, Popcorn, Chocolate Chip and M & M Cookies, Hot Chocolate, Chance to enter your child’s name in a drawing to help light the Holiday Tree
5PM at Town Hall
Frosty Parade departs the Town Hall and travels down Center Street
to Johanna Manfreda Fishbein Park.
4PM - 5:45PM at Johanna Manfreda Fishbein Park and the Gazebo
Holiday music and singing by the Wallingford Community Theatre and Wallingford Chorus beginning at 4:30 PM. Santa's arrival, followed by the Tree Lighting. The Wizard of Oz, the Grinch, and other storybook friends will be present for holiday pictures by the Tree.
